Annual Wellness

The annual rabies vaccination was often the motivator people needed to bring their pet to the vet clinic for a "shot 'n' check-up" but now, with three-year rabies vaccines in common use, the annual check-up can be easily forgotten if the pet appears to be healthy and the rabies shot is up to date.

Many clinics now offer Wellness Tests which are often advertised in the early months of spring to coincide with seasonal issues such as fleas, Glossary Link heartworm, and diseases that commonly appear as the weather warms up. These tests have now become the reminder to bring pets to the clinic for a check-up.

Find Problems Before Symptoms Appear

At Rosecrans Pet Hospital, we are advocates for preventative health maintenance. Preventative care while pets are younger is the cornerstone upon which good quality of life for our senior patients, and lower long term costs for our clients, is built. As your pet ages we can advise you and your family on the necessary changes to their diet, medicine and hygiene.

Our veterinarians are enthusiastic advocates of finding problems before symptoms appear. When caught early, many issues can be reversed or stopped before they reach the danger zone. For healthy young adults, one Glossary Link annual exam is considered minimal, while elderly pets or those with chronic health problems should be checked more often, in accordance with veterinary recommendations.

Flea and External Parasite Control

We offer a wide variety of flea and parasite control products and will gladly discuss the best recommendations for your pet’s lifestyle and other specific concerns. Prevention and education are the best ways to manage these internal and external parasites. Our veterinarians will educate you on the dangers of these diseases and the most effective way to provide your pet with the best protection.

Vaccinations

The world is full of dangers both microscopic and manmade. Vaccinations are designed to train the body to be ready to defend your pet from the most common diseases to which your pet may be exposed. Because vaccines are such an integral part of health maintenance, we offer affordable yearly health examination and vaccine packages.

Pediatrics

Optimal care of a pediatric pet begins with you. Whether or not care for your pet has been received prior to your ownership depends on where you obtained him or her. Rosecrans Pet Hospital offers a set of pediatric wellness packages for both puppies and kittens that are d es igned to ensure that your new pet receives the most comprehensive care possible for the first year of their lives with you.

Many first time pet owners are often overwhelmed. If you are a new pet owner there is lot to learn about litter boxes, house training, scratching, grooming, obedience training, and nutrition. A lot happens in the first six months!

They will need a series of physical exams, vaccinations and dewormings. Vaccine and worming programs are tailored for individual pets and based on the breed, age, and risk.
