Who we are:

Rosecrans Pet Hospital is likely to be one of the oldest animal hospitals in this area. It was first started in 1959 and has continued to be a landmark in the Norwalk, Santa Fe Springs, Cerritos, Downey, La Habra, Fullerton and La Mirada areas. We are often described as the “Red Barn.” The tradition of quality medicine has continued to grow over time and we intend to carry it on into the future. On first entering our hospital, it is clear that we take cleanliness very seriously. We strive to maintain an odor-free environment, and take pride in the fact that unlike many veterinary hospitals, the smell is not the first thing that greets you. Our staff is very enthusiastic about client and patient care; they work hard to educate themselves in order to better assist in the education process that we strive to provide for all clients. Education is empowerment. Our goal is to create open lines of communication between the hospital staff and the client in order to facilitate the optimal care of our patients, your best friends. Why we do it:

We, like most people in Veterinary Medicine, come into the field because we are drawn to it by a sincere desire to take care of animals. We care for the animals as if they were our own. It is clearly a labor of love; attending to those who hurt without being able to tell us where, and anticipating the needs of the patients in our care. We are excited by those that do well and are saddened by those that are too weak to carry on. We ease suffering and support the healing process for both clients and pets. These things we do and more with a sense of gratitude for our life choices. Each of us, in our own time, realized long a go that no other lifestyle would suit. To do something other than what we are passionate about would not be as fulfilling. Veterinary Medicine is a passion, not a career or any means to an end. It is the journey and the prize at the end all in one. It is an all encompassing thrill ride with many peaks and valleys, but above all, it is a driving force. We are here every day and we do what we do because each of us truly loves caring for the animals.
